Alexander "Alec" Simpson Robertson Jr. bio
Alexander "Alec" Simpson Robertson Jr. was born August 24, 1935, in Foxburg, Pennsylvania, and died peacefully in Leesburg, Virginia on August 22, 2023, two days shy of his 88th birthday, surrounded by his wife of 61 years, Peggy, and all five of their children.
Alec spent 40 years with a major American chemical corporation, working his way from chemical engineer up through technology management to Director of Business Acquisitions, with postings across the United States and Europe. Wherever he lived, he volunteered generously — serving as president of his condominium association and of the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival, and helping design and build a church in Lovingston, Virginia.
Alec traveled with Peggy to six continents, more than 40 countries, and 49 states. He was a skilled golfer and fisherman, an avid reader, and a master cribbage and bridge player. Above all, he made time for his children and grandchildren, always making whoever he was with feel like the center of his world.
He is survived by his wife, five children and their spouses, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
