Keep It In The Fairway

There are five basic kinds of bid:

1. Forcing – e.g., bid a new suit, cue bid the opponents suit

2. Invitational – e.g., bid two NT, secondary jump to the 3 level

3. Non-Forcing –

      1H  P  2C  P
      2H 
   
   or
   
      1D – P – 1H – P
      1NT    
   

4. To Play –

   	1N – P – 3N
   

5. Tactical

Advice: Look at your hand and make a mental list of the bids that you might make.  Then, match your hand to the one it most resembles!
